Repair your Windshield Cheap

There are many ways that you have to repair a cracked or broken windshield. Always check your options before deciding on a way to repair your windshield to make sure you are gtting the cheapest way possible to replace repair it.


Cracks in the windshield:

You can repair these by buying a windshield repair kit. These are usually small and easily repaired without replacing the entire windshield. These kits are sold in may of the auto parts store.

Chips:

Small chips are like cracks - easily repaired. You will want to repair these as soo as you can so that they don't spread.

Broken Windshields

These usually have no option but to be replaced. This is usually going to cost you a huge repair bill. But try these tips before you committed to any one certain way of repairing it.

Mobile repair - This is the most convenient they will come to you and you don't miss time from work or school. They will replace windshield in parking lots, shopping malls, or where ever you park your car during the days. These are the quickest way to get your windshield replaced. This may not be your cheapest option but it will be the easiest. Check with your insurance company and see if they have a clause in your insurance policy that will allow you to get it paid for by them. You may have to pay a deductible but it may be less than the price of the total bill of the windshield.

Do it yourself Windshield repair:

This may be your cheapest option however it may not be. If you need to purchase the tools needed to install the windshield it may cost you more. You will have to go to a junkyard or a glass dealer and purchase the windshield and install it yourself. In the mean time you will have to hope that you don't break the glass while bringing it home or installing it. If you break it usually you will have to purchase another one at your expense.

Auto Body Shop:

These usually charge the same as the mobile windshield repair place. They may be a little cheaper but you will have to drop off your car at their garage then pick it back up. It may also take a few days for them to get the windshield and install it for you.


If you can catch the crack or the chip when it first starts, and get a windshield repair kit and repair it at that time you will probably be further ahead. This will be your cheapest way to repair your broken windshield.

Or Gas stations.I agree great post. We get Many clients who have a chip in the line of vision that I will not touch because of insurance reasons.
