Baltimore Maryland has many great sights that you can experience and some of them you can even do for free. There are many different kinds of activities that you can do for free for adults - or even families. If you are looking for a great way to spend a few days, you may want to check out Baltimore. It is close to Washington DC, and you can get around the city with their public transits system.  There are several ways to get around Baltimore from buses to trains and then you have taxis.

You can find many cultural activities to do in Baltimore that are inexpensive or even free. Whether you are looking for fun things to do with your children, or just looking for a way to spend an afternoon, Baltimore is a great place to find things to do cheaply.


Free things for adults in Baltimore:

Baltimore Museum of Art

This is free for you to go in and see their displays and exhibitions. There are different things displayed throughout the year. It's easy to get to with the transits service.

Fells Point

This is a monthly event in Baltimore. Meet artists and sample cheese and wine the first Friday of every month. It's held at Fell's point Development Corporation. Galleries will display artwork, as well as local artists displaying their pieces.  You just walk around to meet the artists, and view of their works.

American Visionary Art Museum

Walk around the outside of the American visionary Art Museum and look at the sculptures.

Farmers Market

Buy fresh produce, fruits, flowers and even herbs at the farmers market at one of the many locations around the city. There are several different localized farmer markets that you can choose from, there is one nearby where you live.

Free Places to Exercise

There are many parks and sidewalks that you can walk all over the city. There are many streets that are safe to walk on and look at the store fronts while you are walking. There are many tree lined streets that make it a nice place to walk.  

Carroll Park you can practice skate boarding.

Take Your Dog for a Walk, and let them run at one of the many dog parks.

The Inner Harbor in Baltimore

Visit one of the oldest seaports and visit restaurants, shops and outdoor activities. You can find live performances going on almost all of the time. There are a lot of attractions on the waterfront.  You can walk the waterfront, go up to the top of the world trade center which is about 405 feet – at the top you will be able to see the city in a whole different view from the observation deck.

State Parks

Picnic at one of the state parks in the area. Not only can you picnic, you can ride your bikes there or play on the playground. This is a great way for the kids to have fun while you relax.

Explore the City

Federal Hill Park a historic part of the Civil War is now a historic park near the Inner Harbor. You can see panoramic views of the city from there.
